Our Mission

To create a safe and nurturing learning environment in which refugee, immigrant and local children from the Chamblee/Doraville area in Dekalb County can develop the knowledge, skills, and character needed to succeed in top-quality high schools, colleges, and the competitive world beyond regardless of their socio-economic and linguistic barriers.

Our Opportunities

The school opened its door to 64 students on July 15th, 2002. In Its 10th year of operation PATH serves 330 students in 5th through 8th grade. The average class size is 10-15 students, depending on the academic needs of the students.

Founder/CEO

Suttiwan Cox, former ESOL teacher in DeKalb and Gwinnett Counties, Georgia, has been an educator for over 30 years. She is in the Georgia Teacher Hall of Fame. She was a 2000 Georgia Teacher of the Year finalist and the 1999 Gwinnett County Teacher of the Year, and is a Milken Educator. She was also appointed by Governor Roy Barnes to serve on the Education Reform Study Commission in 1999 and 2000. Suttiwan Cox has an M.A. in English and M.Ed. (Leadership/Business Administration)
